July 10th, 2008 — ILS and Darim to cooperate in developing and marketing Distance learning and eLearning solutions
AMSTERDAM, July 10, 2008. Darim's innovative real time presentation streaming solution VR-Presenter will be integrated with ILS' sho-Q Presenter and Planning system and packaged as a complete solution in the ILS16 SpeakersCorner lectern. The two companies agreed this month to work on joint developments.
Where sho-Q is streamlining presentations in a seamless flow – regardless of the way the presenters choose to bring their presentations to the lectern – VRPresenter captures the presenter in real time and automatically mixes this image with the output of his/her presentation to form a single XGA data stream at full resolution.
There is no arduous posting process, the data is streamed to the net in real time and optionally recorded for later viewing in eLearning mode.
Like with sho-Q, the operation of the total streaming system is just as intuitive, and training is minimal. A few buttons will initiate the studio-session and allow for manipulation of pre-set camera views mixing the presenter with the presentation output. Transitions are seamless; it only takes one touch to have the presenter in full view, another to have the presentation in full view. Other buttons mix the two in various superpositions.
Henk de Groot, owner of Intelligent Lectern Systems: The Darim VR Presenter is incredibly advanced but very easy to use by the presenter; both our companies have the same vision, and that is to make presenting and distance learning both productive and professional, while requiring less specialist support than ever before. We will keep focus on the AV System Integrator, as where Darim keeps its focus on the broadcast market; this is a very synergetic cooperation.
The VR Presenter was featured for the first time during the INFOCOMM08 show for AV professionals in Las Vegas in June. The system was shown inside the ILS24 platform which has a full 19”rack space inside the lectern. On their booth N5754, ILS also demonstrated new ILS21 and ILS15 Presenter Lectern solutions. Sho-Q software comes with all ILS systems, it was specially written for operating multiple presentations seamlessly bringing productivity and professionalism to occasional presenters and conference organizers alike.
Further integration of the software systems is planned and the ILS16 lectern is a perfect match to offer the solution in a very attractive and robust lectern package which was designed in Switzerland.
Switch to different sources for input, import PowerPoint files, Flash animations, web pages, instructional videos and 3D graphics into the system for playback using a user- or template defined virtual 3D studio environment. Besides use in broadcast studios, lecturing, training, briefing to multiple crowds or classes, an abundance of uses is found in the best education and research institutes, car/plane/spacecraft manufacturing, banks, chemical plants, oil exploration, medical and pharmaceutical companies, government and military briefings and simulations.
Reo Kim, CEO of Darim: ILS is well positioned in the ProAV market, their lecterns are of the highest quality and durability and their Speakerscorner family has exactly the configuration that allows us to integrate our systems very well. The world-class user interfacing, studio template and leader generation capability within the sho-Q development team is a very important asset to our cooperation.
Full XGA image quality streaming has been found a must to create an effective distance learning environment where the student perceives a presence as if he/she were present in the lecture room itself. The VR Presenter system achieves this over regular internet lines at 500Kbps!
The ILS/Darim SpeakerCorner VR Presenter will speed up the changes in modern teaching environments with more professional, more effective, more productive cost-efficient solutions. [click for larger image]
